Evelyn's 3rd Birthday

I can't believe my baby girl is already 3 years old! She is growing up so fast. She is talking up a storm and I love hearing the things she comes up with to say. She used to say "Mom I have a question for you" and has recently moved to "Mom I have two questions for you". I can just imagine what it will be like in a few years. Since there are so many birthdays for us in August Evelyn was definitely in the birthday spirit by the time we reached her birthday (by the way this post is like a month late. Oops). All she wanted was a pink birthday with pink balloons, pink cupcakes and pink napkins. Easy enough right?

When she woke up she was so cute and excited for her birthday. She called for me to get her up. She was so good to wait in her room until we had our camera ready to snap some pictures of her seeing her presents for the first time. Sorry they are a little blurry. She was moving quickly :)

Don't you love the crazy morning hair?

She sure was spoiled by Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles and Mommy and Daddy. Notice all the pink paper? I tried my best to come through with the pink birthday request!

She loved her pink balloons and decorations. She didn't want me to take them down all weekend.

She was so cute opening all of her presents and checking everything out. I'm loving watching her grow and get excited over holidays.

I made homemade donuts for breakfast. I think Ben and I appreciated them more then the kiddos. Oh well!

The kids have had a blast with the water table! They ask to play in it everyday!

We had a fun little lunch get together at our house with a few friends. I forgot to get pictures. But we had flat bread pizzas and the kids played.

Evelyn had a Daddy Daughter dinner date right before her little party.

We didn't have a huge party this year. We just had a few friends over with the plan to swim. Thanks to Louisiana weather it rained so we just played inside and had cupcakes. Pink cupcakes with pink frosting, pink tablecloth, pink napkins, pink plates and pink lemonade. Plenty of pink right?

It was a fun day full of celebration. I love my sweet little Evelyn!

California Trip

We had a wonderful visit to California a few weeks ago. We were able to see family, friends and definitely relax.  Here are some fun pictures from our trip.

We took the kids to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Harrison and Grandpa bonded. I think Harrison was happy Grandpa rescued him from the stroller and gave him a better view :)

Getting a picture of both of these kids both looking and smiling is sometimes impossible

The Jellyfish are still as cool as they have always been

During our hottest days there we had a few visitors in the orchard. They were basically in the backyard at one point.

We had some fun cousin bonding time with Evan

We were able to make a short trip down to celebrate Aunt Nancy's birthday with her. The kids sure love her!

Once Abby got past the fact that Evelyn wanted to play with her toys they became good friends. They were holding hands the next day.

After Jeff and Laura joined us in California we went to the Oakland Zoo. Just as a fyi the zoo is on a hill, so prepare for a workout!

Uncle Jeff was helping Evelyn be adventurous!

We think this giraffe was having some issues. He was the only one constantly hanging his tongue out.

We were so happy to be able to show Evelyn and Harrison where we were married. It's almost been 5 years since we were married!

First Family Membership

We just purchased our first family membership! We got a year pass to the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center.  Exciting right?  That means this family will be going on many nature walks this next year!

Strawberry Patch

Beware. Picture overload. Grandparents love it. Don't Judge too much.

We have loved having Daddy home for Spring Break! Wednesday we went to the Strawberry Patch as a family and had a great time. From the pictures you couldn't tell that there were hundreds of kids there for a field trip.

Even Harrison picked a few

Evelyn told me she "needed to eat this one"

Which led to "I need to eat this one too!"

"And this one!"

What do you mean I can't just eat all of them right now?

This is the please Evelyn just stand here and take a picture with me pose

We met up with the some friends! Ian was trying to tell Harrison how good the grass tasted. Apparently Harrison's tastes buds are too refined for grass. I might be ok with that.

Daddy and Evelyn waiting for the zipline

She might look petrified and probably was but at the end she said it was so much fun!

Notice the hundreds of kids in the background??

Look how much 2 years makes a difference! Apparently I made an old lady and kid move from the bench for no reason. I didn't remember the old bench too well. At least they are sitting in the same spot at the strawberry patch.

Evelyn loved the strawberry they painted on her face. She wore it the whole day, through her nap and even to Target. She cried a little when I told her I had to wipe it off.
