MOVING!!!

Well...we are leaving for the great unknown in a few days and here is a list of things that we are leaving behind (some good and some bad):

1. Utah drivers and pedestrians (FINALLY)!
2. The snow and mountains (and in case you are wondering it is both good and bad)
3. Good friends made over the years
4. Jeff and Laura
5. BYU
6. Our favorite apartment we have lived in (even though it is only the second)
7. The Nickelcade (especially for Megan)
8. Bruges Waffles and Frites
9. Tucanos
10. Park City (and the outlets)

Ok...so maybe only the first two were negatives...well I guess it is really just the drivers (and pedestrians) and the snow that we are happy to leave behind (especially when they are combined).

We are excited yet scared to be starting this next adventure in our life...but we welcome a challenge!

It's a girl!!!

This morning was our ultrasound appointment and we were able to see our baby girl for the first time! We are both really excited and anxious to meet her in August!

I'm sure she is going to love this picture when she is older...her girlie parts for everyone to see!

Her mouth was wide open when we took this picture. Maybe this is a sign she's going to be a talker!

Her Legs!

Her arms! The left hand was curled up and the right hand was in a fist...both up by her head.

And finally her foot!

Louisiana???

Yup! You guessed it! Ben got accepted into LSU's PhD Program for French Studies!! We are excited and nervous to be moving to Baton Rouge. Ben's most excited about the food and I'm most nervous about the alligators! It's nice to finally know where we are going. It will be a change but a fun adventure for the next few years. If you want to learn more about the awesome city we are moving to go to visitbatonrouge.com

The Sparks Clan Grows to 3!

Yup! We are having a baby in August! Crazy huh?! We are both very excited and nervous at the same time! We went to the doctors last Friday and were able to hear the heartbeat for the first time. It was was cool! They don't let you listen for nearly long enough! My favorite part was the doctor said "either you are pregnant or you have a watermelon with a heartbeat!" Funny huh! In our excitement of hearing the heartbeat we went out and bought our Stroller/Car Seat! We love it!!

PS...Don't try the zoom button because it doesn't work :) haha

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was spent in California. It was such a nice and relaxing break from work and school for us both. We are so grateful for our families and all that we have been blessed with. Here are just a few glimpses of Thanksgiving day and week.

We were just missing Jack and his family in this picture but he did hang out with us:)

New Addition To Our Family

I bet you all were not thinking that the new addition is a bird! Haha. Well about a month ago Ben and I brought home Pierre from Pet Smart. We have been working hard to train him and get him used to being around people. We both admit that it is nice to have something else alive in the apartment when we are home alone. He's full of personality and character and we are loving having him in our home. I guess we are now considered bird people...oh well :)

It's Been A While

So I realize it has been a while since I have posted anything on our blog. Sorry. Life seems to have gotten busier since Fall semester started for Ben and I started working. So here is a little bit of what we have been up to.

Crafting season has commenced! Well, at least it did a few weeks ago. My lovely neighbor and I stole this idea from http://www.decorchick.com/diy/diy-fall-topiaries-a-michaels-knock-off/ to make Fall Topiaries to add a little festivities to our apartment. I am actually pretty happy with how mine turned out.

We bought an ottoman! I love it! My favorite part is that Ben sits by me more:) It opens up and has a ton of storage inside. We got it at RC Willey on an amazing sale. Sorry this isn't the best quality of picture. I took it with my phone.

My parents came out for General Conference. It was a lot of fun to go up to Salt Lake to listen to it. I realized we didn't really get a good picture of my parent's and us but I like this one of Ben and I.

This is the only picture we have of my parent's and I. Let's face it...this happens to all of us at least once during a General Conference talk. It's not that the talk is boring but that it's normally after lunch and we just need a nap.

Besides that life has been great. Ben has applied to two Ph.D. programs and has two more applications to finish. We are anxious and excited to find out where he gets in and where we will be this time next year.
